On Wednesday – we had a grape WW&D event. Amy Rehkemper shared some amazing tips about getting organized, CD made an awesome menu (as usual -wasn’t that duck terrific?). The overwhelming favorite wine was the Mark West Pinot Noir. If you’re looking for it – Spirits of Mt Vernon on Charles has it in stock usually or you can always ask your favorite wine shop to order it. Pinot for the People is the winery’s motto – and it is a great price/quality ratio find. Heres some pictures from the event and also – a list of Amy’s top 3 tips to work towards getting organized.
Amy’s Tips:
1. ONE-IN, ONE-OUT- Every time you buy a new item,
select a similar item to give away. This will keep
your wardrobe up-to date and your closets from
filling-up. Unless you plan on building an addition
onto your house every couple of years, you better
either stop buying more stuff, or start living by this principle.
2. BE A SMARTER SHOPPER- You may think that getting
rid of things is like throwing your money away. Let’s
set the record straight- your money was wasted when
you bought the item that you didn’t need and therefore
never used. Limit purchases to items that you NEED
(not want) and only buy if you have a pre-determined
place for the items to “live.” If you buy things just
because they are “cute,” or on-sale, you will soon
find yourself living amongst clutter!
3. NIGHTTIME NEATEN- Take 15 minutes at the end of
every day to return things to their home, you will
thank yourself when you arise each morning to an
orderly and welcoming home.
