Where to eat on Valentine’s Day in Baltimore
OK - here’s the deal, why have I NOT provided romantic suggestions for dining in Baltimore City today - because people, Valentine’s Day - albeit a GREAT day for restaurants, is a horrible day for diners. People are stressed, service is spotty and the food - not always at its best.
My personal favorite - takeout from Wegman’s, Eddie’s or Graul’s (in that order) or Angelo’s carryout (if you live near the Rotunda you know why).
Whatever you eat - make sure it’s with someone you love. Life’s too short to waste food over empty emotions, and that means yes - carrying a small pocket mirror and dining alone - is perfectly fine.
Smooches to you my darlings, may much love come your way - today and the rest of the year.
Love reminds you that nothing else matters.

I agree…it is NOT a good night to dine out! Every couple of years I forget this and learn to regret it all over again! We went to Aldo’s where we had a reservation for 7:45, didn’t get seated until about 9:15. We had to wait in a crowded bar area where people were continuously lined up outside the door (meaning, we had the chill from outside all evening) and then our service was slow and not very good! We didn’t leave the restaurant until 11:45pm. This was my first experience there and I didn’t get the romantic dining experience I was looking for…no soft lighting or cozy feel. I had the lobster risotto which was wonderful but overpriced ($48!) and my date didn’t really care for his dish..So, lots of money, long wait, not great service (though he did make us laugh-we both independently noticed a striking similarity between him and Mr. Bean, to give you an idea), food just good, not much in the way of romantic ambiance. And the kicker-we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity for our table of 2!!!
I won’t be going back there, or out on V day for quite a while (in a couple of years when I forget and have to learn all over again!)
Anyway, I like your yummy grocery store idea better!
